Overall, this is a solid combo for anyone who’s interested in running at full 2.9Ghz with couple more additions to the latest Android 5.1 so definitely give this guy a go this week(end) and do let me know what you think!

Oh yeah, even if you don’t run this ROM, at least try the Lean Kernel for some nice performance boost.

Download:

Download Chroma ROM 3-15-2015 (This is the version I used but check here for latest version)

Download Lean Kernel

Download Android 5.1 Gapps (DO NOT USE Android 5.0/5.0.1/5.0.2 Gapps, you will force close on setup!!!)

You need a rooted Nexus 6, if you do not have a rooted Nexus 6, see How to Root Nexus 6 first!

For installation, simply reboot into recovery, format /system and /data, then install ROM, kernel, and Gapps.

Make sure to make a backup ROM first, then follow my guide on How to Install Custom ROM with TWRP if this is your first time installing a custom ROM.

Question, what other rom could I use to utilize the 2.9 Ghz over lock assuming that I run the lean kernel to do that? Or does it matter as long as I’m running the over locked version of the kernel?
